Community Closet Terms & Conditions
By submitting a nomination or application to Marin’s Custom Apparel’s Community Closet, you agree to the following terms:
1. Purpose
The Community Closet is a giving initiative created to support individuals and causes that could use a little extra love. Selected recipients may receive custom apparel or merchandise designed and produced by Marin’s Custom Apparel, at no cost to them.
2. Eligibility
Anyone can submit a nomination for a person, group, or cause that deserves a boost. You may nominate yourself or someone else. All nominees must live in California and be able to receive items via delivery or shipping.
3. What We Provide
If selected, the recipient will receive a custom order based on what they need and what we offer—just like any regular order. That could be apparel, stickers, buttons, or other items within our capabilities. The size and scope of each order may vary depending on available resources and community support.
4. How It Works
Think of this like putting in a custom order on someone else’s behalf. You’ll submit the info as if you were placing an order, and if selected, Marin’s Custom Apparel will cover the cost by connecting the order with someone or funding it through our Community Closet fund. Orders are invoiced like any other project—we just make sure someone else is picking up the tab.
We may prioritize selections that feel feasible for our team and for supporters to help fund. The story and impact matter most, but feasibility helps us say “yes” more often.
5. Selection Process
We review all nominations based on impact, story, and alignment with the Community Closet’s mission. We’re drawn to uplifting, community-focused stories—not just hardship. Not all submissions will be selected. Decisions are final and based on available resources, time, and potential funding.
6. Content and Consent
By submitting a nomination, you confirm that:
-
You have permission to share the nominee’s story and information.
-
You understand we may share all or part of the story, images, or resulting apparel or goods on our website, social media, or other materials unless otherwise requested in writing.
-
If selected, recipients may be invited to share photos or a brief testimonial. This is always optional, but greatly appreciated.
We do our best to honor privacy and handle all stories with care.
7. Delivery
We offer delivery or shipping only—no local pickup available at this time. We’ll coordinate with the nominee or their contact to make sure items get to the right place. If we can’t connect with the recipient within a reasonable time, the offer may be forfeited or postponed.
8. One Nomination Per Recipient
Please submit one nomination per person or cause at a time. Sending multiple entries doesn’t increase the chances of being selected. If a nominee is not chosen, you’re welcome to reapply after some time.
9. Community Contributions
We occasionally partner with generous individuals or businesses who help bring Community Closet orders to life. If an order is funded by a sponsor, we may choose to recognize them on our website or in other ways. However, recognition does not imply endorsement, affiliation, or agreement with that sponsor’s views, services, or activities.
10. Limitation of Liability
Marin’s Custom Apparel is not responsible for any loss, misunderstanding, or issue that may arise from participation in the Community Closet. All items are provided “as is.” We reserve the right to pause, modify, or discontinue the program at any time, for any reason.
11. Funding and Cancellations
If an order is selected but funding does not come through as planned, Marin’s Custom Apparel reserves the right to delay, adjust, or cancel the project. If a supporter contributes to an order and the recipient cancels, changes their mind, or cannot be reached, funds will not be refunded. Instead, the contribution will be rolled into the general Community Closet fund to support future recipients.
12. Information for Supporters and Sponsors
If you’re contributing to a Community Closet order—thank you! Your support goes directly toward producing custom gear for someone who needs a boost. All items are created through Marin’s Custom Apparel just like any other paid order, and your funds help cover materials, production, and delivery costs.
If an order you supported doesn’t move forward (for example, if the recipient withdraws or we can’t finalize details), or if not enough is raised to complete the project, your contribution will not be refunded. Instead, your donation will be added to the Community Closet fund and used to support future orders. We’ll always do our best to make sure your generosity makes an impact.
Recognition of your support may appear on our website, social media, or other order materials—but that doesn’t mean Marin’s Custom Apparel officially endorses your business, services, or views. We just appreciate the help and want to give credit where it’s due.
